The University of Texas at Dallas is one of the fastest-growing and highest-ranked public universities in Texas, driven by innovation, academic excellence and a diverse, high-achieving student body. With nearly 30,000 students enrolled and more than two-thirds of its alumni base living and working in the Dallas-Forth Worth Metroplex, UT Dallas is shaping the region’s future across industries like tech, healthcare, business, research and the arts.
But success in the classroom and beyond isn’t always guaranteed — especially when students face financial emergencies that threaten their ability to stay enrolled.
A University-wide basic needs survey conducted in 2022-23 found that just $400 in emergency expenses could be the difference between a Comet graduating or having to pause their education. Closing this gap will provide a crucial safety net that gives all Comets the opportunity to stay on track and finish strong.
This North Texas Giving Day, you can help keep students on track by giving to one of UT Dallas’ three Student Emergency Funds:
These funds provide fast, flexible support for students facing unexpected hardships — from medical bills and housing insecurity to food and transportation needs. With your help, we aim to raise $30,000 to support urgent needs this school year, helping all Comets continue their pursuit of academic excellence. Every dollar helps!
Each year, we receive dozens qualifying applications, with an average award of $400 per student. By reaching our goal, we can help at least 75 students continue their education without disruption.
Your gift to UT Dallas on North Texas Giving Day goes directly to students in need. Thank you for directly building a stronger future for North Texas.
Let’s keep Comets moving forward, together.
Note: You may designate your gift to a specific area, department, school or cause at UT Dallas. Please use the NOTES section if you do not wish to make a gift to an emergency fund.
