The Basic Needs Resource Center (BNRC) is a campus resource center aimed at addressing the basic needs of all UT Dallas students, ensuring they have access to necessary resources to succeed academically and personally. It serves as a crucial support system for students facing challenges and who need assistance to be able to continue their studies at UT Dallas. The BNRC helps make sure that these barriers do not impede the education or well-being of Comets.
Since opening in the fall of 2024, the BNRC has served nearly 2,800 students. Our services include Temoc’s Closet, menstrual supplies and contraceptive kits, support for pregnant and parenting students, foster care alumni program, Behavior Assessment and Intervention Team (BAIT), emergency school supplies, a lounge space open to all students, and more!
Ways to support the BNRC:
- Monetary donations, regardless of size, help our team purchase essential items to be distributed to currently enrolled students who are in need
- In-kind donations are the primary way Temoc’s Closet remains stocked with gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories
- Direct donations can be purchased through our Amazon Lists for Temoc’s Closet, menstrual products, and pregnant and parenting supplies, or delivered directly to our team
