40% of dogs that make up the population in our US shelters are Pit Bulls. Now take that number and double it. In North Texas, the numbers are much much worse at almost 65%. What's even more upsetting is that 87% of these pit bulls are eventually euthanized. We have a huge problem and these dogs need us now more than ever. This year, The Love Pit is aiming to raise $40,000 on North Texas Giving Day to help save more pit bulls from our North Texas shelters. They are also trying to expand their advocacy and education programs, recruit new fosters and volunteers and expand their rehoming program. With the 40k raised on North Texas Giving Day, they will be able to save hundreds of lives and also keep hundreds more from entering the shelter. These dogs need us now more than ever. It's time to step up and be the voice for voiceless! It's time to Save the Pit Bull!
We have had such a great experience with this rescue. The foster, the trainers, and just the overall process has been awesome! We adopted the sweetest pibble (Romo) that is a perfect fit for our family and we all just adore him. Whenever we decide to add another dog to our household, we'll definitely be adopting from TLP again! - Jandi McCrory

We rescued a sweet loving pit bull from the streets. I did not want to take him to a kill shelter. We did everything to find his owners, to no avail. I reached out to The Love Pit and they worked diligently (Kelly and Meredith) to find him a foster through their group. They even communicated with me on Saturday and Sunday to find this sweet boy a foster home. I am so grateful to both of these ladies and The Love Pit Rescue for their dedication and love for these dogs. It is obvious how much they love and care about animals. Thank you -you are the best and will always be our heroes. - Sheryl Denton Sutherland

This place came through for me today. I contacted them yesterday about a pit bull that someone dumped on my property. The dog was in dire straights, he could barely walk and was so timid and scared. I wasn't sure it would even make through the night but it did. They came out and picked this precious, hurting pooch up and I am believing for the best for this dog. Thank you so much for moving so swiftly and truly making a difference.- Judy Gola Richards

I adopted my sweet Pitty from here and cannot stress enough how amazing they are! They went above & beyond for me! My apartments recently lifted their "no aggressive breed" rule and their site doesn't reflect it so instead of just saying no completely they called the office manager to verify that they no longer had that rule. Not only were super sweet but the application process was SO quick! The foster parents were also EXTREMELY welcoming and so knowledgeable about my pitty, his health, and his story. Would recommend The Love Pit to everyone! - Mariah Vargas
