$50,000 Goal

Our Goal: 20 children’s books in every North Texas home—no matter the ZIP code.

Over 70% of the children we serve have fewer than 10 books at home. For many, the book they pick at a Book Drive for Kids free book fair is the very first book they can call their own.

As a local, grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we get books directly into the hearts and homes of children who need them most by:

  • Hosting free book fairs where every child chooses a book to take home forever.

  • Equipping teachers with free books for their classrooms and reading events.

  • Partnering with community programs like Back to School events, holiday drives, and summer reading promotions.

Your Impact

Every dollar makes an immediate difference:

  • $5 puts a new book into a child's hands.

  • $75 fills an entire classroom with books.

  • $2,500 sponsors a free book fair for an entire elementary school.

Giving Activity

Mission

Book Drive for Kids is on a mission to create a culture of literacy by providing books to disadvantaged children for independent (fun) reading.

Needs

Volunteers for free book fair events; volunteers to pick up and sort donations; monthly giving donors; sponsors for free book fairs and/or annual fundraiser, an Adult Spelling Bee held each March. Volunteers to organize book donation drives at their places of employment, in civic groups, and/or in their neighorhood.

Equity Statement

We believe every child regardless of their race, economic status, gender, or age deserves to have a home full of books because the number of books in the home is a key indicator to academic success. Our mission is to provide books to disadvantaged children so they can achieve and compete with other children who already have the means to have a home filled with books.
