It’s easy to take for granted that our children have books at home, often more books than we can count. But working at the book fair opened my eyes to just how special it can be for a child to receive a book of their very own.
I’ve watched kids light up when they’re given one or two books for free and get to write their name inside. For some of them, it’s the first book they’ve ever had that is truly theirs to take home, keep and read again and again. That really stays with you.
Reading opens doors. It builds confidence, sparks imagination and gives children the ability to learn about a world far beyond their own. I truly believe that when a child can read, there is no limit to what they can learn, dream or become.
That’s why this Book Drive for Kids means so much to me. Every book we give is more than just a book; it’s an opportunity.
Book Drive for Kids has a goal of providing at least 20 books in every household in North Texas where children currently have no access to books. A donation as little as $5.00 will put one book into the hands of a child who will thrive because of you!
