What We Do
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul FW Diocesan Council is a volunteer organization that provides assistance to those who have fallen on times of hardship or personal crisis. Our unique approach is a one-on-one visit in the comfort of their own homes when possible, listening carefully to their concerns, getting to know them, hearing their stories. Currently there are 13 conferences, providing help such as rent, utilities, other bills, along with offering emotional & loving support. Several conferences also offer food pantries, clothing, and school supplies.
The FW Council sponsors two systemic change projects: The Micro Loan Program assists neighbors dealing with crushing debt from predatory loan or unexpected expenses/emergencies, to empower them to rebuild their life free from poverty. And the St Vincent de Paul Pharmacy provides access to free, often life saving, prescriptions for those without health insurance.
The council also serves on Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) which provides aid during local disaster recovery efforts.

A network of friends, inspired by gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need.
So many are on the edge of homelessness, with a record number of evictions, shelters are full, so this means the streets or pay by the week motels.
Rent, utilities, groceries, etc have been rising, however, wages have not kept pace. As soon as donation monies come into various resources, funds are quickly depleted. This results in electricity or water being turned off, prescriptions skipped, and food pantries in much higher demand.
Out of desperation, people have turned to easy to qualify Payday or Car Title loans. This only results in even more debt.
People need prescriptions, but without health coverage, skip weeks/months, to stretch their money.
We humbly are asking for your help, so that we will continue to be able to assist where the need is greatest! ❤
As a reflection of the whole family of God, Society of SVDP volunteers come together from every ethnic and cultural background, age group, and economic level.
