Irving Youth Theatre (IYT) was founded in January 2023 as part of the Entertainment Series of Irving's educational outreach. IYT has already brought to life Aladdin Jr., Finding Nemo Jr., Moana Jr., The Little Mermaid Jr., Beauty and the Beast Jr., and The Lion King Jr., all while impacting the lives of dozens of young performers and their families across the DFW metroplex.

IYT welcomes all children in grades K–12, regardless of which school they attend. Each production is designed for a specific age range, giving every young actor a chance to shine. Through the magic of live theatre, our performers—and the families and audiences who cheer them on—experience community, creativity, confidence, collaboration, and joy. Being part of a show is a truly transformative experience, and we’re committed to making it accessible to every child.

This fall, we’re tackling our first full-length musical: Into the Woods! With a production budget of approximately $15,000, this show represents an average cost to bring a show to stage. Most of our shows cost between $10,000–$20,000 to produce, while our summer camps typically range from $5,000–$10,000.

In addition to financial support, we love when the community joins us behind the scenes! Volunteers are needed to build and paint sets, make and gather props, organize costumes, sell program ads, request donations, run backstage crew, usher, manage concessions and merchandise, and—of course—buy tickets!

How will you support Irving Youth Theatre? Whether you give time, talent, or treasure, your involvement helps keep the magic of theatre alive for the next generation.

Mission

Inspiring confidence, creativity, and connection through theatre!

Irving Youth Theatre empowers young voices through the performing arts. By nurturing creativity in a supportive and inclusive environment, we inspire young people to learn, grow, and shine—onstage and behind the scenes. Through these experiences, our youth build confidence, practice empathy, and discover the power of their potential.

Needs

**How You Can Support Irving Youth Theatre**

Irving Youth Theatre is committed to making musical theatre accessible to all young people—regardless of their financial background. Here's how you can help us continue creating magic onstage and behind the scenes:

🎭 **Funding the Shows**

Producing a show costs between **$5,000–$20,000**, but we *never* want to pass that cost along to our performers. **Your donations help provide scholarships** for families who may not be able to afford participation.

🤝 **Corporate Sponsorships**

Know a business or individual who wants to make a lasting impact? We’re looking for **sponsors for individual shows, full seasons, or scholarship funds** to support our talented youth.

🛠 **Volunteer Power**

Got time or skills to share? We need helping hands for:

* Set building and painting

* Prop making and gathering

* Advertising and marketing

* Makeup and costume support

* Ticket sales and ushering

* Lighting and sound assistance

* Fundraising events and more!

🎁 **In-Kind Donations**

We gladly accept donations of:

* Set pieces and props

* Costumes and accessories

* Raffle items for fundraisers

* Concessions and merchandise

🏠 **Space Needed**

Do you know of a **rental space** that could serve as a rehearsal, storage, or performance location? We’re searching for an affordable or donated venue to call home!

**Every contribution—big or small—helps us empower young voices through the performing arts. Thank you for being part of the IYT family!**

Equity Statement

All are welcome and included. IYT families come from all over the world! Our shows are open to students in Kindergarten through 12th grades no matter which school (or homeschool) they attend. Each show has a different targeted age-range for performers. Families must be located within the DFW metroplex in order to rehearse and perform in Irving. Students may participate on the stage or behind the scenes. IYT provides scholarships for young people to be able to participate no matter their family's finances. Families are required to volunteer and participate in the production of the shows as Irving Youth Theatre is an all-volunteer organization.
