$25,000 Goal

TXHR was formed in May 2009 to help save homeless, abused, and neglected huskies and adopt them into permanent and loving forever homes. We are a 501(c)3 organization run entirely by volunteers with no paid staff or shelter. We rely on our network of foster families to give temporary homes to huskies until their permanent home is found. We provide all necessary vetting and medical care to every Siberian we take into our rescue and we are a responsible animal rescue agency in that we spay/neuter every adult husky prior to adoption. We ensure puppies born into rescue are spayed/neutered at an appropriate age.  We are proud to have saved almost 2,500 huskies since our inception.

Fundraising and donations are essential in allowing us to continue rescuing huskies. With adoption fees only covering approximately 30% of expenses spent directly on our dogs, we simply cannot do what we do without the generosity of our supporters.

TXHR does not just rescue the healthy, adoptable dogs, but we also save those that need it the most - many deemed rescue only due to medical or behavioral issues as well as those taken in from cruelty seizures and puppy mills. Often these huskies require extensive medical treatment, such as surgeries for broken bones or long term treatments for mange. Others come to us with behavioral issues as a result of abuse, neglect, and mistreatment.  Some of the worst cases come from cruelty seizures which require substantial resources and additional time in our program to help them overcome their previous lives. Donation and fundraising are essential in allowing us to continue the work that we do.

Our Needs

Texas Husky Rescue requires funds to continue our mission of rescuing Siberian Huskies in Texas. Additional funds also allow us to focus on huskies with medical or behavioral issues, including seniors and cruelty cases, that would otherwise be euthanized in area shelters. All fundraising proceeds directly benefit huskies in need throughout Texas by allowing us to do what we do best - rescue and rehabilitate Siberians and place them with their FOREVER FAMILIES!! Families who will love them FOREVER!!

Mission

To rescue, rehabilitate, and find qualified loving homes for neglected, abused, and unwanted Huskies throughout Texas. To educate the public about responsible pet ownership and the special qualities of the Siberian Husky Breed.

Needs

Our medical costs have increased due to the cost of living and COVID impact. Routine vetting costs more, and specialized surgery and rehabilitation have also skyrocketed.

We rely on fosters, but oftentimes, the medical requirements exceed our foster's ability for care, so need money for specialized medical care and extended stays in vet offices.

We have some dogs needing behavioral modification requiring careful and professional training, which is time-consuming and expensive.

In addition, in some cases, fosters are not immediately available, and our dogs need to spend time in boarding.
