Mission

Friends of the Dallas Public Library champions the Dallas Public Library’s mission to deliver free access to resources, services, and information that empower the Dallas community.

Needs

Each year, Friends of the Dallas Public Library commits funding to help the Library go beyond what public dollars provide — supporting programs that educate, inspire, and connect our community.

In 2025–2026, we’ve pledged $350,000 to fund free programs across all 30 branches — from early literacy and summer reading to GED prep and senior socials.

We're also working to grow our endowment to $7.5 million in honor of our 75th anniversary, securing the Library’s future for generations to come.

With your support, we can ensure every Dallas resident has access to opportunity.
