Sometimes, all it takes is one person to remind someone they're not alone.

One afternoon, a court staff member rushed to find our Chaplain after a distraught parent began talking about hurting themselves. Overwhelmed by fear, anger, and hopelessness, they felt like there was nowhere left to turn.

Our Chaplain did what they do every day—they listened without judgment, offered compassion, shared hope, and helped create a plan for the next step forward. By the end of the conversation, the tears had stopped, and a smile had returned.

Moments like these happen every day at NewDay.

For many parents and teens walking through the family court and juvenile justice systems, our Chaplains may be the first person to truly listen, encourage, and remind them that they are not alone. They provide hope when it feels out of reach and help families begin taking steps toward healing.
