Six years ago, I walked out of prison determined that my story would not end with my conviction. I carried hope, faith, and a vision that one day women returning home would have access to the support I wished had existed for me.
Today, that vision has become Pearl's Place.
I am honored to announce the grand opening of Pearl's Place, Gateway Alliance Project's trauma-informed SAFE Home for women returning from incarceration. Even more exciting, Pearl's Place is proud to be the first member of the A New Way Of Life SAFE Housing Network in North Texas, joining a national movement committed to ending cycles of incarceration, homelessness, and trauma through safe, healing-centered housing.
This opening is about far more than one house.
It is about opening doors to stability, dignity, employment, healing, and hope for women who deserve the opportunity to rebuild their lives.
Help us welcome the first women who will soon call Pearl's Place home.
Your gift will help provide:
- Safe, furnished housing
- Bedding and welcome-home essentials
- Nutritious meals
- Workforce development
- Peer coaching and recovery resources
- Life-skills programming
When I walked through those prison gates years ago, I never imagined that my freedom would one day help create freedom for others. Today, because of supporters like you, that dream is becoming reality.
Thank you for believing that every person deserves dignity, opportunity, and a place to begin again.
