Who was your CHAMPION? Tracey's story

The story of Together We Thrive began in 2017, when I looked deep into our public schools that sit deep in our communities and saw what too often went unseen—hundreds of thousands of youth navigating life entirely on their own. We knew they needed a CHAMPION. 

I often reflect on my teen years and am reminded of the many champions I had during my middle and high school years.  For many of the hundreds of youth we have the privilege of sitting with consistently week after week, they will share of beautiful stories of their champion, unfortunately, for many, they are only left with memories and a life left to  navigate on their own. 

By 2019, Together We Thrive stepped into its first school, walking alongside 41 overaged and homeless students. With the consistent support of a Life Coach, every one of those students earned their high school diploma—proof that hope, stability, and belief can transform a young person’s future.

Six years later, what started with one school and 41 youth has grown into a movement. Today, Together We Thrive is serving not only high school students but also middle school youth, their parents, and families across multiple campuses and districts. What began as a response to a heartbreaking reality has become a model of consistent presence, breaking cycles of survival and equipping the next generation to thrive.

Together We Thrive believes that every youth can achieve great things when they are safe and supported. Together We Thrive's certified Life Coaches meet every week with youth, teaching them life skills, challenging them to dream big, and providing a safe space for youth to grow. Youth transform their lives in our program:

• 100% of youth successfully complete their school year. 
• 98% of our youth report that they can remain calm when facing difficulties because of the coping skills they have learned.
• 95% of youth in our program think about the future before acting because of what they’ve learned with their Life Coach. 

At every campus where Together We Thrive serves, there are youth waiting for their turn with a Life Coach.  I am fundraising to help add a new Life Coach to the Together We Thrive team and remove youth from the waitlist!
