Magic Happens at Camp John Marc

Camp John Marc is a year-round camp that partners with DFW hospitals to bring patients out to camp. Allowing them experience being in nature and focus on just being a kid. We have 4 main programs which include, weeklong summer camps, weekend camps, family camps and weekend family retreats.

Camp John Marc ensures that campers medical needs are met while at camp which includes having physicians, nurses, therapists on site throughout the summer  and bringing all required medical equipment on site from from providing dialysis to chemo all of it can be done at camp. 

I have been volunteering at camp since 2016 and every time I am there I am floored by how magically camping can be. I watch kids connect with others going through similar situations and share their story sometimes for the first time. I’ve seen kids make huge strides in independently managing their health. Watched kids trying new things with huge smiles on their faces. And just all around have a joyful fun time having access to something that isn’t always readily available to them. 

I’ve been on the camp John Marc board for 2 years now and have got to witness first hand all the behind the scenes work required to ensure that all kids have access to a safe and accessible camping experience. As well as the fundraising required to ensure that no kid or family ever pays for camp. Please join me in supporting this incredible organization.
