Crooked as Hell

Empowered, crooked as hell,

Only out for the dollar they sell.

 Stealing children, hiding truth,

Wrecking families, stealing youth.

Blame the parents—shame the name,

While they’re the ones who play the game.

 

Call Dad a criminal in court,

Built on lies—they come up short.

 

Say Mom’s a junkie for THC,

Though she’s got a card for PTSD.

 

Charge you with neglect and sin,

But don’t care what faith you’re in.

 

Two-hour visits, torn apart—

That’s not enough to heal a heart.

 

Corrupt to the core, disrupt your peace,

Their grip on your life will never cease.

Good from Bad

By a Father Who Chose to Rise

 

Good can come from bad,

Here's my story—as a dad.

 

CPS had me jump through hoops:

Counseling, court, and group-based groups.

 

But as a father, you can always learn—

There’s knowledge at every turn.

 

Like the Focus for Fathers class,

Which became a brotherhood that’s badass.

 

It helped me grow, redefine my role:

A leader, a warrior, servant, whole.

 

Not just “baby mama” or “my ex” to mock,

But a MOC—a Mother of the Child, solid as rock.

 

Our kids are watching everything we do,

Learning life through me and you.

 

Having a vision, a plan, a goal—

Maybe they won’t lose control.

 

I learned about trauma—adverse childhood pain,

Without that class, I wouldn’t know the name: ACEs.

 

It went from a class I had to attend,

To something that helped me truly mend.

 

So thank you, David and Larry,

This wisdom, I’ll always carry.
