On December 23, 2007, Founder Sterlynn Jones faced every parent’s nightmare. Just days after bringing home her newborn son, while celebrating her daughter’s 4th birthday, her 13-month-old son choked on a dime and lost consciousness. With her husband at her side and her children nearby, Sterlynn performed CPR and saved his life. That moment changed everything — and sparked a mission to ensure that no family feels unprepared when seconds matter.

In 2008, Sterlynn began carrying CPR manikins into childcare centers and churches, teaching parents choking rescue and lifesaving skills. By 2009, when she opened her own childcare center, she required all teachers to undergo training before employment and receive quarterly refreshers. A decade later, in 2019, she became a certified CPR instructor and launched Sterling 1st Aid C.P.R.™ as a nonprofit to expand this mission into the community — with a focus on reaching underserved communities first.

Since then, Sterling 1st Aid C.P.R.™ has directly trained more than 2,000 people and reached thousands more through partnerships with schools, recreation centers, churches, and community programs. Our focus is simple: bring CPR, overdose prevention, child safety, and mental health awareness to the communities that need it most.

Now we are taking the next step: launching a Mobile CPR Training Unit to deliver free lifesaving education directly to neighborhoods, schools, and childcare centers across Texas. This traveling classroom will meet families where they are — and ensure that lifesaving skills are accessible to everyone, free of charge.

Every heartbeat matters. Together, we can save lives.

Our Need

We have set a $100,000 goal to:

  • Purchase and equip a Mobile CPR Training Unit to reach underserved communities across Texas

  • Provide free CPR, Narcan, and child safety training for parents and families

  • Train and empower youth mentors to lead neighborhood outreach

  • Install interactive Sterling CPR Kiosks inside the Mobile Unit, allowing students, parents, and community members to practice CPR, choking response, and AED use anytime

With your support, we can put lifesaving education on wheels — and into the hands of every family, student, and teacher who needs it most.
