Friends of Solar Prep exists to help bridge funding gaps between what the school district’s funding provides and what is needed on our Solar campuses for higher academic achievement.

STEM education, in particular, costs approximately $350 more per student, per year. On North Texas Giving Day, we need your help to raise $100,000 to support our Solar scholars in achieving their full academic potential.

The single biggest indicator of high performing schools are teachers. I am supporting Friends of Solar Prep this year to ensure that our stellar Solar teachers have the resources necessary to ensure our scholars achieve their full academic potential.

Where does the money go? Glad you asked:

1. $25,00: Enhanced Learning Spaces and Programs

Our Solar Scholars are leading the way in our community. Help us elevate their learning experiences with new and improved facilities, such as a transformational science lab, an indoor play area for inclement weather, and advanced programs in physics, reading, debate, orchestra, and modern band. Your support will provide essential tools and innovative spaces that scholars rely on every day!

2. $25,000: Expanding Our Library Collections

Curiosity is a cornerstone of Solar Prep’s philosophy. Our libraries are vital for nurturing a lifelong love of learning. For many students, these libraries are their primary source of books. Your contribution will help us fill our shelves with diverse and engaging titles, making a significant impact on our students’ educational journeys.

3. $25,000: Investing in Teacher Training

Empower our educators with advanced training in best practices for delivering our SEL and STEAM curricula. Investing in our teachers enhances their ability to foster a supportive and effective learning environment, directly influencing student success, classroom culture, and overall retention.

4. $25,000: Supporting the Peace Pantry

The Peace Pantry plays a crucial role in addressing food insecurity and providing essential resources to Solar families. Your donation ensures that our community remains strong and supported, helping families meet their basic needs and thrive.
