Bid. Belong. Build Something Together.

This September, the Oak Lawn UMC Silent Auction returns as part of our North Texas Giving Day celebration—and this year, we’re not just auctioning off things. We’re creating experiences, making memories, getting to know one another, and raising vital funds for the ministry of our church.

Our goal is simple: have some fun together and raise a lot of money for Oak Lawn UMC!

Help Us Build the Auction

Before we can start bidding, we need your creativity and generosity. Auction donations are being accepted through September 5.

Think beyond the traditional gift basket! Donate something you already have access to, share a talent, or create an experience for someone else to enjoy.

Ideas include:

  • Restaurant, theater, concert or sporting-event tickets

  • Hotel stays, airline miles or travel experiences

  • Art, jewelry, memorabilia or other special items

  • Spa treatments or gift certificates

  • Handy-person help, organizing, yard work or other services

  • Cooking, music, dance or other lessons

  • A dinner party in your home

  • Pickleball, bowling, tennis or another outing

  • A Christmas-lights tour

  • Dessert-of-the-month

  • A picnic, scavenger hunt or group adventure

Some of the best auction items don't cost the donor anything—they simply offer your time, talent, hospitality or imagination. Experiences hosted by members also give us something especially valuable: more opportunities to know one another beyond Sunday morning.

And Then There's The Dare.

Three familiar faces have agreed to put their dignity on the auction block: Robert, Nick and Buddy, our security team.

If their special “dare package” receives at least 20 bids totaling $1,000 or more, they'll take the stage in October for a costumed and choreographed performance of Beyoncé's “Single Ladies.”

Yes. Really.

So whether you're bidding for dinner, an adventure, a helping hand—or simply the opportunity to see our security team dance—we want you in on the fun.

Ready, Set, Bid!

Donate by September 5.
Online bidding: September 12–30.

Every donation and every bid supports the ministries of Oak Lawn United Methodist Church as we continue amplifying God's love through radical hospitality, serving our neighbors and standing up for justice.

Give something. Bid on something. Invite your friends. And let's see what we can build together.
