Earlier this year, we came together for Black Girl Day Off — a morning of restoration, reflection, and community.
Black Girl Day Off fell on a Saturday, a day many of us usually spend running errands, catching up on chores, and putting ourselves last. Instead, a community of women chose to pause, breathe, and center their well-being.
The Lotus Club partnered with Mo Matcha, Do Your Work and Black Woman On A Mission to host a free morning of movement, mindfulness, and meaningful connection at White Rock Lake. Together, women stepped away from the grind of "getting things done" to rest, reflect, and experience joy in community.
The morning began with a nature walk along the lake, grounding everyone in the beauty of the outdoors. From there, the group moved into a journaling session — a space to pause and reflect, drinks in hand courtesy of Mo Matcha.
It was simple. It was needed. And it was free for every woman who showed up.
Now we want to do it again — and make it bigger. Your gift helps us bring Black Girl Day Off back next year, and keep it free for every woman who needs a morning like this one.
