Rachel Scott's Birthday Fundraiser for DRR

To honor Rachel's memory and celebrate her birthday on August 30th, we're raising funds for Doodle Rock Rescue in conjunction with North Texas Giving Day. Rachel's love for Doodles began in May 2014, when she met social media star "Nelson the Goldendoodle" while visiting Dallas. She quickly became obsessed with the breed and just a few short months later, in August 2014, she brought Charlotte home. After Rachel's passing in 2018, Charlotte has continued to be a cherished member of our family, now happily living with my parents. Supporting DRR is a meaningful way for us to celebrate Rachel's love for Doodles and honor the joy and companionship Charlotte has brought to our lives.

I began fostering with DRR in December 2025, just a couple months after losing both of my beloved rescue dogs, Kinsey and Meg. Fostering provided a meaningful way to honor them while helping other dogs in need, and it ended up being an integral decision in my healing process as I navigated the grief of losing them both so close together. Kairo, a standard poodle, was my very first foster dog. He came to us severely emaciated, weighing only 28 pounds, after being found as a stray in the cold rain. With the support, medical care, and resources provided by DRR, Kairo was given the chance to heal, regain his strength, and ultimately find his forever home. Our current foster dog, Rookie, is a puppy who came into the rescue battling parvo, a devastating and extremely costly disease to treat. DRR spared no expense to give Rookie and his brother Blitz a fighting chance. Thanks to their commitment and willingness to step up when these puppies needed help most, both are now healthy, happy, and thriving in their foster homes.

Since 2017, DRR has rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed over 2,300 poodle mixes, many with urgent medical needs like broken bones, heart conditions, or life-threatening illnesses.

DRR is 100% volunteer-run and foster-based, so every dollar donated goes directly to a dog's care, from emergency surgery to food, medicine, and behavioral training.  Any donation amount is greatly appreciated and with your support, we can continue to give more dogs the second chance they deserve.
