Leilani's Brown Girls Do Ballet Fundraiser

Hi, my name is Leilani. I'm an ambassador for Brown Girls Do Ballet, which is an organization that gives access to supplies and funding to aspiring brown dancers to help achieve their dreams. 

I have been able to discover what my dream is thanks to the brown dancers who came before me. I personally identify strongly with this organization, as I aim to do the same for the next generation of dancers. I am currently studying Dance- Art Administration at Butler University to help achieve my goal.

Thanks to the organization, I can connect with a network of brown dancers and mentors of different walks of life. We can encourage each other in their respective paths like recreational, pre-professional, collegiate, freelancing, professional, etc..  As an ambassador, I've been able to get access to different outreach opportunities such as master classes, photo shoots, community engagement events, and encouraging gifts. Even if I'm not based in DTX where they are headquartered, I am still able to engage in their nationwide opportunities.

こんにちは。私はレイラニと申します。「ブラウン・ガールズ・ドゥ・バレエ」のアンバサダーを務めており、夢を追いかける有色人種のダンサーたちにバレエ用品や資金を提供し、夢の実現をサポートする活動に携わっています。

私自身、先駆者である黒人ダンサーたちの活躍に背中を押され、自分の夢を見つけることができました。同じように、次世代のダンサーたちにも夢を叶えるための支援を届けたいと強く願い、この団体の活動に深く共感しています。現在はインディアナポリスのバトラー大学でダンス・アート管理学（アートマネジメント）を学びながら、この使命を胸に活動しています。

この組織を通じて、さまざまなバックグラウンドを持つ有色人種（BIPOC）のダンサーやメンターと繋がり、励まし合うネットワークが広がっています。私たちはレクリエーションからプロフェッショナルまで、それぞれの道で互いに支え合っています。アンバサダーとして、マスタークラスの開催や写真撮影、コミュニティイベントへの参加、励みとなる贈り物の提供など、幅広いアウトリーチ活動に携わっています。拠点がダラス・テキサスになくても、全国規模の活動に参加できるのも大きな強みです。
