Native grasslands are vanishing in Texas due to rapid urban development. Yet they benefit us all by 1) storing and cleaning vast amounts of water, protecting communities against flooding and drought, 2) creating healthy soil, 3) serving as vital habitat for hundreds of native wildlife species, and 4) conserving open space for recreation and agriculture.
