After serving a pregnancy care center for over 20 years and working with families through the child welfare system, I knew I wanted to work in a deeper capacity to bring help, healing, restoration, and faith, hope and belief in Jesus Christ to children in care. Since serving in this capacity, I have gained an incredible appreciation and admiration for families who choose to walk through the healing and restoration process with children in foster care...especially families who do so under the name of Jesus Christ as the head of their household.
TBHC Foster Care and Adoption's Lufkin Office opened in May of 2024 and we are so thankful for the successful journey so far. While we have brought on several families, we are seeking to increase our reach and effectiveness in both Regions 4 & 5 by identifying more faith-based, Christ-following families to join in foster care or adoption.
TBHC Lufkin office plans to use a portion of the funds collected for family recruitment efforts (fairs, events, outreach activities) as well as appreciation efforts for current families. Fostering can come with many challenges and difficulties, but it is also laced with positive moments and much joy and laughter. While the greatest gift for our families is knowing they are co-laboring with Christ and storing up treasures in Heaven, we want to do our part to help relieve stress and burdens and show as much gratitude and thankfulness as possible.
