The Richard Martinez Cancer Fund directly pays for life saving cancer treatments, medical supplies, hospitalizations, surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation or any other cancer-related medical costs, for law enforcement officers from local, state or federal agencies. We currently have a record high number of beneficiaries, each of whom are fighting cancer and continue to serve as law enforcement officers in our communities.
Facing a cancer diagnosis is overwhelming and affects the patient's physical, psychological, emotional, and mental well-being. It also has a detrimental effect on the patient and their family finances, and this adds another layer of stress and worry to an already stressful situation.
Our sole mission at the Richard Martinez Cancer Fund, is to alleviate that financial burden, so the officer and their family can focus on healing and winning the battle, not the financial cost of that victory. We never want another officer to have to choose between life saving treatments and their every day expenses. Our volunteer run organization assumes the responsibility for those cancer-related medical bills, and allows our law enforcement beneficiaries to get the treatments they need, without worrying about the cost.
