Road to Goalball Nationals 2026

Metro Blaze Blind Athletes of Texas is raising funds to send our goalball team to the USABA Goalball National Tournament in Colorado Springs, CO on August 14th - August 16th, 2026.

For many of our athletes, this tournament represents more than competition, it is an opportunity to build confidence, develop independence, and represent Texas on a national level.

As a nonprofit organization, we work to remove financial barriers so that blindness or low vision never prevents someone from participating in adaptive sports. Your support helps ensure our athletes can focus on competing instead of worrying about the cost of getting there.

Why This Tournament Matters

The USABA Goalball National Tournament brings together some of the country's best blind and low vision athletes.

By attending, our athletes will:

• Compete against top teams from across the United States
• Gain valuable tournament experience
• Improve athletic skills and teamwork
• Represent Texas and the Metro Blaze community
• Build confidence, independence, and lifelong friendships
• Inspire future athletes within our community

Our Goal

Our fundraising goal is $3,000 to help cover travel expenses for (4-5) goalball athletes and volunteer coaches/guides. Funds will be used for estimated costs for:

• Transportation - $500
• Hotel lodging - $600-$1,000
• Tournament Registration Fees - approx. $1,000
• Meals During Travel - $300-$500

Estimated total: $2,500 - $3,000

Any funds raised beyond our goal will directly support Metro Blaze's adaptive sports programs throughout Texas, helping more blind and low vision athletes participate year-round.
