Metro Blaze Blind Athletes of Texas is a nonprofit organization that provides blind and individuals with low vision, access to adaptive sports including blind soccer and goalball.
We exist to make sure that athletes who are blind are not excluded from sport simply because of vision loss.
Our athletes train, compete, and grow in an environment built on teamwork, trust, and inclusion. Many are experiencing organized sports for the first time in their lives. Through coaching, equipment access, and community support, we help athletes build confidence both on and off the field.
Metro Blaze athletes compete locally and are also given opportunities to participate in national and international tournaments, representing Texas on a broader stage and showing what adaptive athletes can achieve.
Every program we run is designed to break barriers, create opportunity, and build a lasting community for athletes who are blind or visually impaired.
Every dollar creates access. Our athletes participate at no cost, and your gift provides uniforms, equipment, and travel support.
We’re breaking barriers. Donations fuel programs that help blind and visually impaired athletes build confidence, independence, and community.
Your support creates opportunity. With your help, we can expand blind soccer and goalball in the DFW area, giving more athletes the chance to play.
We’re changing perceptions. Through demonstrations, outreach, and tournaments, Metro Blaze is showing the world what’s possible when barriers come down.
Your gift ensures that no athlete is turned away and that adaptive sports continue to thrive in Texas.
Metro Blaze Blind Athletes of Texas is dedicated to connecting, educating, and bringing awareness to sports and resources available to blind and low vision individuals.
Metro Blaze relies on community support to provide year-round adaptive sports opportunities for blind and low vision athletes.
Your support helps us cover:
-Coaching & Training Costs – qualified coaching, training sessions, and program development
-Equipment & Uniforms – blind soccer balls, goalball equipment, jerseys, and safety gear
-Facility Use – access to indoor and outdoor training spaces (this is becomes very difficult when many facilities do not allow or require expensive fees for private practices which is essential for the safety of both blind athletes and other sighted individuals)
-Transportation Support – helping athletes get to practices, clinics, and competitions
-Competition Opportunities – travel and participation in regional, national, and international tournaments
With your help, athletes who are blind or visually impaired can train consistently, compete confidently, and be part of a team that believes in their ability.
At Metro Blaze Blind Athletes of Texas, we believe that every individual—regardless of ability, background, income, or identity—deserves equal access to sports, community, and opportunity. We are committed to building an inclusive, welcoming environment where blind and visually impaired athletes can thrive. Our programs are designed to remove barriers to participation, and we actively work to ensure that all athletes have the resources and support they need to succeed.
