Stand With Sharing Life Families in Crisis Today

In October of 2023, I joined Sharing Life—and over the past two years I have grown to truly love the people who work here, volunteer here, and the clients who walk through our doors in need of help.

Our entire team works tirelessly to ensure our fellow North Texans have what they need to survive. The truth is, the last few years have been rough on all of us. We’ve endured a pandemic, a recession, and rising costs that just don’t seem to let up. If it’s been hard for you and me, imagine how hard it has been for families already living paycheck to paycheck.

Our clients face heartbreaking choices every day—whether to pay rent or buy food, cover a utility bill or get needed medical care, put gas in the car to get to work or feed their children dinner. No family should have to make those decisions.

That’s where Sharing Life steps in. We provide real, tangible relief to thousands of families each year. One of the ways we do this is through our client-choice food pantry. Instead of being handed a box of random items, families are able to “shop” our pantry every two weeks and choose the foods that fit their needs and preferences. This dignity of choice means everything—it transforms the experience from charity into empowerment.

As someone whose role is to raise the funds to keep our doors open, I also have the privilege of meeting clients face-to-face. I’ve heard the relief in their voices when they describe how Sharing Life helped them make it through another month. Many of them never imagined they would need to ask for help. They are proud, hardworking people. But life circumstances forced them to seek support, and because of donors like you, Sharing Life was there to provide hope, kindness, and compassion.

That’s why I am asking for your help this North Texas Giving Day. You can be the light in someone’s darkest day. You can help a mom who is struggling to feed her kids. You can help a senior who has to decide between medicine and groceries. You can make sure no family goes to bed hungry.
