FEED YOUR NEIGHBORS. STRENGTHEN NORTH TEXAS.
A meal can change a day. The right support can change a life.
For the 3rd year in a row, Texas has been names the hungriest state in the nation. Your neighbors are working hard and still struggling to keep food on the table. A medical emergency, reduced work hours, an unexpected car repair, or one higher-than-normal bill can quickly force a family to choose between groceries, rent, utilities, and other necessities.
But YOU can step in to help because hunger CANNOT wait.
When you give to Sharing Life this North Texas Giving Day, you're helping feed a neighbor today while connecting families to resources that can help them build a more stable tomorrow. EVERY $$$ counts and MAKES A DIFFERENCE!
WHO WE ARE
MISSION
Sharing Life strives to end hunger and poverty by demonstrating compassion to those in need through food, clothing, financial resources, and educational programs.
HISTORY
Sharing Life Community Outreach Inc. was founded in 1999 by Teresa Jackson. Initially, it was a modest food pantry serving 200 clients annually from her van. Over the years, it has expanded to serve over 58,000 unique individuals annually with comprehensive wraparound services from a 31,000+ square foot facility in Mesquite, TX. Sharing Life's reach extends far beyond its four walls through valued partnerships. As a redistribution center for the North Texas Food Bank, we reach almost 1 million people annually across Collin, Dallas, Kaufman, Rockwall and Tarrant counties.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
Sharing Life isn’t just about meeting needs, we’re about meeting people with compassion. Families who turn to us are often in their most vulnerable moments, and we believe dignity and respect must come first. Compassion transforms a simple act of assistance into a step toward healing and stability.
The people we serve are among the most marginalized in our community: seniors, veterans, individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities, survivors of domestic violence, single mothers, those experiencing homelessness, and other vulnerable neighbors who need more than a meal, they need hope. Meeting those needs at scale requires more than compassion, it requires collaboration. By partnering with organizations like Dallas College, the City of Mesquite, Mesquite ISD, the North Texas Food Bank, and many others, we combine expertise and resources to create holistic solutions that no single organization could accomplish alone.
This is what makes Sharing Life different: compassion at the front line, partnerships at the foundation, and life-changing impact felt across our entire region.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
1) GIVE - The very best way you can help is through financial support. Sharing Life is highly efficient with funding, stretching every dollar to provide food, housing stability, and wraparound services that truly change lives. When you give, you are fueling our mission in the most powerful way.
2) VOLUNTEER - We also rely on the generosity of those who give their time. Volunteers are the backbone of Sharing Life, welcoming families, stocking shelves, assisting in the pantry, and making sure help gets where it’s needed most.
3) GET INVOLVED - Host a drive, donate clothing and household items or shop our wishlist. Your support goes directly into the hands of our neighbors who need them.
No matter how you choose to give - through funds, time, or goods - you are helping families survive today and thrive tomorrow.
