My Story – My Why
CHEW began with a belief that no pet should lose their life because care was out of reach. I knew there had to be another way — a place where families in crisis could turn for help, and pets could get the chance they deserved.
CHEW has grown into exactly that: a nonprofit veterinary hospital offering advanced diagnostics and surgeries to pets who would otherwise have no options. Behind every call and every email is a family desperate to save their pet — and the Compassion Fund allows us to give them hope and healing.
But the truth is, the work is draining — mentally, physically, and emotionally. The need never stops. The calls and emails pour in daily, and behind each one is a pet whose life hangs in the balance. Carrying that weight is heavy, but every life saved reminds me why we keep going.
CHEW operates at cost, not for profit — the Compassion Fund bridges the gap when under-resourced families need more help. It’s what makes it possible for us to ensure whatever is needed to make surgery, treatment, and diagnostics possible.
My “why” is simple: no pet should be lost just because money stands in the way of care. The Compassion Fund makes that possible. With your support, we can keep turning heartbreak into healing, and despair into hope.
Together, we can save lives. That is why I started CHEW — and that is why I’m asking for your help today.
