Because most adopters seek young, healthy dogs, these resilient souls often remain in foster care longer, and the costs of their care far exceed adoption fees. This fundraiser is in loving memory of Winnie, a very senior Boston Terrier rescued from a small-town Texas shelter. Diagnosed with cancer and given just 3–6 months to live, Winnie defied the odds and spent more than three joyful, relatively healthy years with her devoted foster family. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, August 29th, in the loving arms of the people who cherished her every day.
