Fuel the Mission: Launching a Mobile Community Resource Closet in North Texas

Just A Queen with Goals Empowering Women is proud to introduce a new initiative rooted in compassion, community, and action — The Mobile Community Resource Closet. This innovative project is designed to meet families where they are, bringing essential items and wraparound support services directly to underserved neighborhoods in Arlington, Fort Worth, and greater Tarrant County.

Our goal is to raise $20,000 to officially launch and operate this mobile unit — and we need your help.

The Problem: Poverty and Access Gaps in North Texas

Across North Texas, especially in communities like Arlington (zip code 76010), families are facing serious barriers to basic resources. In Tarrant County alone, over 10% of residents live below the poverty line, with surrounding counties like Dallas reaching 14%. These families often lack access to transportation, making it difficult to receive items like diapers, hygiene supplies, and emergency essentials.

Single mothers, caregivers, and low-income families — many of whom live on less than $20,000 a year — are being forced to make impossible choices between rent, food, and care for their children.

Our in-office Community Resource Closet has served over 3,000 families since 2021 and currently supports 100+ families weekly, but the need continues to grow. Transportation remains a major obstacle. That’s why we’re expanding — on wheels.

The Solution: A Mobile Closet That Comes to You

The Mobile Community Resource Closet will function as a fully equipped mobile outreach unit that travels to low-income neighborhoods, schools, shelters, and apartment complexes — ensuring that essential supplies reach the people who need them most.

Each mobile delivery will provide:

  • Diapers, wipes, formula, and baby items

  • Children’s clothing and shoes (all sizes)

  • Postpartum and feminine hygiene kits

  • Toiletries, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, and more

  • Non-perishable food and printed resource guides

  • On-site referral and wraparound support info

This mobile model removes the transportation barrier and restores dignity by delivering care in a respectful, community-based way. The mobile closet also allows us to collaborate with schools, churches, and housing complexes to reach those often missed by traditional programs.

🔧 What We Need to Launch

To bring this life-changing program to life, we are raising $20,000, which will directly fund:

  • Purchase of a branded, gently used cargo van

  • Shelving, bins, and interior buildout

  • Gas and vehicle insurance

  • Inventory replenishment (diapers, wipes, hygiene items, clothes)

  • Staffing and operational costs for 6 months

  • Community outreach materials (flyers, scheduling, printing)

Every dollar raised helps us reach more neighborhoods, more mothers, more children — with the essentials they can’t go without.

 Why It Matters

When families have access to the basics, children stay healthy, parents reduce stress, and communities become stronger. Something as simple as a clean pair of shoes or a week’s supply of diapers can make the difference between isolation and empowerment.

This is about more than giving items — it’s about restoring dignity, building trust, and creating community.

Our work is trauma-informed, equity-driven, and led by lived experience. Founder Nikki Jackson, a single mother and nonprofit leader who once struggled herself, built Just A Queen With Goals to serve others who are walking the same path she once did.

 How You Can Help

We’re calling on community partners, corporate sponsors, funders, and caring individuals to stand with us. Here’s how you can contribute:

  • Donate today — every amount helps, and every dollar counts.

  • Sponsor a neighborhood pop-up — $250, $500, or $1,000 options include logo recognition and community shout-outs.

  • Provide in-kind support — diapers, hygiene kits, gently used children’s clothes.

  • Share our fundraiser on social media and with your network.

  • Volunteer your time, skills, or services.

Together, we can meet families where they are — with love, support, and resources in hand.
