What do I mean by Upgrading our Inclusivity Mission?
I will first share our concrete actions-in-motion to illustrate our philosophical intention behind it.
To “upgrade our Inclusivity Mission,” we are bringing you two exciting new initiatives this coming May 2025.
Leo, our Tuesday Wake Up Dallas YES attendee with a gentle and friendly spirit and generous volunteerism, is offering Bad Habit Safe Space on Wednesday, May 14th, 7-9 PM Please check them out. [https://dallasmeditationcenter.com/product/bad-habit-safe-space/]
Jiyoon is developing Religious Trauma Safe Forum: Information, Reflection, and Optional sharing
Why are we putting our energy into developing these offerings?
As I serve the Dallas Meditation Center community as the Center Director, I have been honored to be trusted with the stories of our community members. I resonated with the stories of struggles with spiritual practice within a strict religious framework. If not cautious, Meditation is not immune to causing similar struggles. Although there could be many benefits, Meditation and Mindfulness practices that place emphasis on self-discipline in hierarchical structures can have unintended side effects of triggering the woundings from the hierarchical structures of various kinds.
With this awareness, I, our Dallas Meditation Center leaders, and community members are developing Dallas Meditation Center culture to be an even more gentle space for Mindfulness and connection. We are excited to collaborate on trauma-sensitive, nonjudgmental spaces where people can come as they are and grow as a collective.
These offerings can be created by staff and volunteers investing extra time, effort and commitment without any compensation. To make these offerings grow more smoothly and organically, we need your support.
Thank you for considering supporting the Dallas Meditation Center’s growth, Upgrading our Inclusivity Mission. Please feel free to contact me at jiyoon@dallasmeditationcenter.com for any questions, concerns, and more.
Jiyoon bowing out– please take care.

Why grow more sensitive and inclusive now?
When it seems like becoming “stronger” is needed in response to what is unfolding in the world at large, when there are too many news reports that trigger “fight-or-flight” impulses within us, I believe it is time to cultivate Resilience. As meditators, we know this. This is not the time for tightening up. Nor an impulsive exit strategy. Definitely not misdirected aggression. By growing more sensitive and more inclusive, we are becoming spacious enough to hold it all, what we are witnessing within ourselves and in the world at large. And when these spacious-minded people commit to holding space for everyone with the sense of Collective, that is Resilience. This is why I believe this is the time to Upgrade our Inclusivity Mission. To cultivate Collective Resilience.
How can I support Dallas Meditation Center?
Our Courageous Donation-based operational model has its cost. Our gatherings and events do not generate profit beyond operational cost, so we are still recovering from the Pandemic shutdown deficits. Like many organizations, we have not recovered from the decrease in the number of attendees.
The most immediate way of supporting our Mission and growth would be offering donations HERE. Thank you for considering.
