My wish is a world where dogs are treated as family. Every year, my fellow volunteers and I work hard to try and fulfill that dream, but the requests are never ending and the dogs keep breeding, being dumped, being abused, being treated as trash….
We need money to help us do this.
Our team is volunteer based, nobody is paid for the tireless hours they spend working, not to mention the sweat and tears we shed along the way. Our funds are for medical care, outreach (vaccinations, spay neuter, appropriate shelter, food to name just a few).
DSDA does not pay for a facility, we work out of our homes, we don’t have a vehicle, we use our own cars, we don’t get reimbursed for gas, we pay for that ourselves. Every cent we can possibly use for the care of animals and a brighter future for street dogs is stretched as far as possible. We might sound crazy but we sure are proud of how we operate.
