At Leia’s Kids, we believe no family should face childhood cancer alone. Our Family Grants provide immediate, meaningful relief to families navigating the emotional, physical, and financial challenges of a pediatric cancer diagnosis.
Each grant is designed to meet a family’s most pressing needs — whether it’s help with medical bills, gas for countless hospital trips, rent and utility assistance, or creating joyful experiences for children who spend too much of their childhood in treatment.
Average Grant Amount: $500–$1,000 per familyAverage Grants Awarded Per Month: 3 familiesAnnual Families Served: 30–40 families across Texas
Impact of a Single Grant:
Eases financial strain: Provides immediate help with basic living expenses or treatment-related costs.
Creates joy: Funds family experiences or small celebrations to restore a sense of normalcy during a very abnormal time.
Offers emotional support: Families feel seen, supported, and reminded that they are not walking this journey alone.
“Leia’s Kids gave us more than financial help — they gave us hope. When our daughter was in the hospital for her birthday, they stepped in to celebrate her in a way we never could have managed on our own. In the middle of one of our hardest seasons, they reminded us we are not alone.”— A Leia’s Kids Family
