Panther City Repair School, a 501c3 nonprofit based in Fort Worth, Texas, is redefining how musical instrument repair and manufacturing are taught, practiced, and passed on in the 21st century.

At Panther City, we provide hands-on, apprenticeship-style training in instrument repair —a trade that is rapidly disappearing in the United States. Our students gain real-world experience working on instruments from local school districts, professional musicians, and university programs, all under the guidance of master technicians with decades of experience.

But our work extends far beyond traditional tools and techniques. We are revitalizing a vital American craft by integrating today’s most advanced technologies. Our program incorporates CAD design, 3D scanning and printing, CNC machining, carbon fiber fabrication, and other modern materials and methods. We also offer a fully developed franchise and partner program, enabling graduates to pursue careers in instrument repair and manufacturing anywhere in the world. Through this approach, we are creating meaningful, future-ready career pathways—particularly for individuals who have historically lacked access to skilled trades education.

We’re currently seeking partnerships with individuals, companies, and grantmaking organizations who share our passion for:

  • Arts and music access for students

  • Modern workforce development and trades education

  • Sustainable U.S.-based manufacturing

We have several formal partnerships with boutique domestic and international musical instrument manufacturing companies, The Kennedy Center Duke Ellington Orchestra, US Marine Corps Band, several Universities and our repair shop services many local independent school districts which do not have available instrument repair funding or services.

If this mission resonates with you, we would love your support! Thank you for considering us.
