At Families United and Protected (Families UP), we believe that strong families build strong communities. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Texas, our mission is to empower youth, young adults, and families through access to mental wellness support, workforce development, and life-changing opportunities that inspire confidence, growth, and long-term success.

Our programs meet people where they are, offering counseling, life coaching, educational workshops, and career advancement resources to help them move from survival to stability. We focus on transforming not just individual lives, but entire family systems because when people are equipped emotionally, mentally, and financially, they thrive.

What We Currently Provide

With your support, Families UP offers the following vital services free or at low cost to our participants:

Career Empowerment Scholarships: Through our partnership with Google and other platforms, we help adults obtain industry-recognized professional certifications in high-demand fields with an earning potential of up to $80,000 annually. These scholarships give underserved individuals a chance to build real careers, not just jobs. Awardees receive case management to assist with challenges they may face while pursuing career certifications. 

Mental Wellness Support: We provide life coaching and counseling services to individuals and families, focusing on healing, self-awareness, and emotional resilience. 

Monthly Empowerment Workshops: These sessions are open to the community and cover topics such as emotional intelligence, communication, financial literacy, parenting, goal-setting, and relationship building. Each workshop is designed to equip individuals with real-world tools that lead to lasting change.

Youth and Family Development: We support teens and young adults ages 14–24 through programs like our annual Power in the Know Summit, connecting them to career pathways, entrepreneurial training, and mentors who mirror their dreams and experiences.

Our Immediate Needs

To continue expanding our impact and removing barriers for the communities we serve, we are seeking the following forms of support:

• Corporate Sponsorships & Partnerships – Help us scale our outreach, provide materials, and support volunteer training.

• Gift Cards (Amazon, Costco, Walmart, etc.) – Used to supply food, hygiene items, clothing, and workshop materials.

• Funding for Volunteers & Wellness Staff – Enable us to train and retain skilled life coaches, therapists, and facilitators.

• General Financial Support – Help us host workshops, provide counseling sessions, maintain operations, and reach more families.

No gift is too small; every dollar supports someone’s journey toward healing, purpose, and economic mobility.
