10+ More Years of Union

Union Coffee is a non-profit, church, and coffee shop all rolled into one great community hub that is home for me and many others. It's hard to believe we are celebrating 10 years of Union this November, and this North Texas Giving Day we are excited to raise money with hopes for 10+ more years!

I started attending one of Union's worship gatherings, Kuneo, in 2015 after moving back to Dallas after college. It was a confusing time in my life. I was trying to figure out who I was and what were my next steps. I craved community, but I was also very conflicted about what I believed spiritually. Union was a church like no other I had encountered before, and at first, I didn't know how to reconcile what Union was with my past church experiences. I slowly started to get more involved, and with my passion for music, was thrilled to start playing with the house band for Kuneo, The Misfit Whatevers. Music has always been a form of sanctuary for me and getting to play with The Misfits was truly a gift that I am so thankful for. 6+ years later, I'm still a proud Misfit and play in the band every Tuesday night.

Union has also been paramount in my personal growth. I have never felt more loved and supported by a community before in my life. Union created a brave space for me to work through trauma and learn to love myself genuinely, and for that, I am forever grateful. My hope is for Union to continue to do this important work for 10, 20, 30+ years down the road!
