Solar Prep for Girls - Ms. Mathai

This is my eighth year at Solar, and I tell anyone who asks that there truly is no other school like ours! It has always been important to me to work at a school whose vision aligns with my personal values, and I found that at Solar Girls. Every day, we work to give our students the confidence to speak up, take risks, and become the leaders we hope to see in the future.

As a science teacher, I especially love working at a STEAM-focused school. Our students already have a strong foundation, which allows me to introduce exciting, creative learning experiences that we might not otherwise have time to explore.

Another reason I cannot imagine leaving Solar is the incredible support our teachers receive. Friends of Solar Prep makes it possible for our administrators to provide the resources we need to bring meaningful ideas and experiences to life. Without FOSP, so much of the “Solar magic” that makes our school special would not be possible.

This year, I need support from 22 different donors to reach my fundraising goal. Every donation, regardless of the amount, brings me one step closer and helps ensure that our students and teachers continue to experience the magic that makes Solar so special!
