Did you know a liveable wage in Dallas/Fort Worth Texas for one working adult and two children is almost $70,558, after taxes? That’s $34 an hour. Daycare for two children can be upwards of $33,000 a year without a hand up. Texas is currently facing a childcare crisis because pandemic federal aid has stopped. 

Believe it or not, Tarrant County’s #1 crime is human trafficking, targeting our most vulnerable children, while the 2nd cause of death for young people 10-24 years of age is suicide. With 40% of Americans living paycheck to paycheck, it means one car repair can mean a parent can’t get to their job, which can mean homelessness. Be a part of stopping the cycle of poverty and trauma that children in our community are facing and can forever be altered by. 

For 115 years, Center for Transforming Lives has been that hand up in our community, helping break the cycle of poverty, to permanently lift women and children from poverty. I’ve personally known the CEO of this amazing organization for 25 years and have been helping their cause almost 10. Their impact makes all the difference in our neighborhoods and our country’s future, our children.

The CTL FUND Supports: 

•CLINICAL COUNSELING - Through the counseling program, women and their children are connected to our licensed therapist who provide evidence-based, trauma-informed individual and family therapy.

•HOUSING SERVICES - Women and their children are provided safe housing and comprehensive support to establish emotional and financial stability.

•EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION - High-quality, affordable, year-round education at four child development centers and partnerships with other childcare centers throughout Tarrant County.

•ECONOMIC MOBILITY - •Engaging women in asset-building services so they can create long-term financial independence and stability for themselves and their families.
