Laylah is a radiant 9-year-old sickle cell warrior whose bravery shines brightest during blood draws and IVs. Her courage lifts her mom, dad, and older sister, reminding them to be brave too.
She lives with sickle cell anemia, a genetic blood disorder that causes intense pain episodes, fatigue, and frequent hospital visits. Because of it, Laylah often misses out on things other kids take for granted like going to school regularly, swimming and playing outside without worry, or attending events without fear of getting sick.

But Laylah doesn’t let her diagnosis define her. She’s full of life, faith, and determination. When she sets her mind to something, she does it. Her deep belief in Jesus gives her strength, and her joy shines through in everything she does—from drawing and coloring to dancing to K-pop and singing along to Taylor Swift songs. She’s a thrill-seeker at heart, always up for roller coasters and go-karts, chasing every moment of fun with fearless energy.
Her favorite place to feel free is the sanctuary, where she connects deeply with animals and finds peace through nature and friendship. Her bond with Miss Karen has made the ranch a sanctuary of healing and joy.
Laylah lives her life to the fullest and she does so with a sparkle that’s impossible to miss.
