At Rush Creek Sanctuary we believe in second chances—both for the draft horses we rescue and give permanent homes to, and for the people who find healing through them. Our sanctuary provides a safe haven for draft horses rescued from slaughter. We also rehabilitate and rehome healthy draft horses and mini donkeys saved from desperate situations, ensuring they receive the care, dignity, and love they deserve. But their impact extends far beyond our pastures. These gentle giants and little minis play a transformative role in equine-assisted coaching, supporting veterans with PTSD, individuals with terminal illnesses, those overcoming trauma, people facing mental health or substance abuse challenges, and executives seeking leadership growth or professional development. Through our programs, we provide a space where healing happens naturally—where a veteran struggling with nightmares finds peace in the quiet strength of a horse, where trauma survivor rediscovers trust among the presence of a mini donkey, where a corporate leader learns the power of presence and connection. Every session, every moment of growth, is made possible by the support of compassionate donors like you. We are reaching out today to ask for your help. Your donation ensures that these incredible souls receive the medical care, nutrition, and rehabilitation they need while also supporting the life changing work they do with the people who need them most. Whether it’s covering the cost of hay, veterinary care, or sponsoring a healing session for someone in need, your generosity makes a real difference.

Our Sanctuary provides over 180 acres of healing tranquility for veterans, terminally ill and special needs children and elderly.

Mission

Our Mission is…

to expand existing animal rescue and public service efforts at Rush Creek Sanctuary to develop a

unique animal rescue, rehoming and rehabilitation program that offers educational and recreational

opportunities that capture the synergies of integrating animal rescue efforts with therapeutic and

social programs for veterans, seniors, children, adults, and those with special needs.

• At Rush Creek Ranch, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing environment for animals and providing a serene sanctuary for people to relax,

experience educational opportunities and enjoy entertainment. Our mission is to foster the well-being of rescue animals by offering a safe haven,

and to inspire a deeper connection between humans and animals focusing on children, young adults, veterans, seniors and those with special needs.

• Offer a range of enriching activities and experiences that promote unique learning, conservation and appreciation for our diverse environment.

• With a commitment to sustainability and responsible land stewardship, we aim to cultivate a pleasant relationship between animals and nature.
