Forever Friend Rascal was rescued from a terrible situation in 2021
He was a part of a group of dogs living outside in chainlink runs, fed on dirt with no bowls and no clean water.
He was forced to live outside, with no shelter from the cold, wind, rain or sun. He lived and slept on top of his own waste in a small 4x4 kennel - even his small and seldom meals were served to him on top of his feces.
Because he had no shelter, Rascal has permanent damage to his skin and ears. His skin was hurtful to look at. It was so dry, infected, and cracked open like an egg when we touched him. He's sensitive to many things and he's had one chronic ear infection after another - despite thousands of dollars in surgeries and medications for them.
The evil, pain and neglect he endured for years did not dull his personality. This boy has been the biggest, sweetest love to everyone he's ever met!
His monthly maintenance costs roughly $250/mo. That doesn't include anything routine or any kind of flare up or new issue.
Over the past 4 years, between multiple surgeries, heartworm treatment, tests, bloodwork, routine care and keeping him healthy and comfy, Rascal's bills have been well over $19,000.
Our Forever Friends have ongoing medical needs, that we seldom ask for help with, but their funds have gotten very low lately, and without the help, pets like Rascal have no hope of a new life - Not many people will adopt a dog knowing they'll have to spend a minimum of $3000 a year, just on medications which is why Rascal is in our Forever Friend Program.
Rascal has found himself a wonderful mom and family of his own and now lives the life he deserved to live all along, and his family can give him love and spoil him without having to worry about the cost to keep him comfortable.
Please consider a small donation to help not only Rascal, but other current and future Friends in our Program so that they get the love and life they deserved all along.
