$85,000 Goal

The goal of Our Father's Children, Inc is to prevent the cycle of abuse and neglect. We provide resources for the children we serve in an effort to show them a better future. Our programs provide hope in a dark world by putting adults in their lives who become role models and friends they can rely on. While our successes are difficult to measure, we do witness a number of our kids who age out of our programs and return as volunteers. We've also witnessed a number of our volunteers become foster and adoptive parents, providing happy and loving homes.

Our Needs

Our ongoing needs include financial support to send North Texas kids to Royal Family Kids Camp (for 6-11 year olds) and North Texas teens (ages 12-18) on weekend retreats. All programming supports our efforts to help give these children, most of whom reside in foster care, the tools they need to succeed in the world once they age out of the foster system. Additional needs include funds to continue construction and refurbishment of our campground, Camp Akiva.

Mission

Our mission is to create positive, uplifting memories for children of abuse, ages 6-18, in camp settings and weekend retreats with age-appropriate curriculum.

Needs

We need volunteers! It just takes one caring adult to impact the life of a child. We provide all necessary training and each volunteer is subject to an interview and background check.

Additionally, we have a list of needs for our camp facility, Camp Akiva: a backstop and bleachers, a new gym, and a woodworking shed, to name a few.
