Guardians of the Children Big Sandy Chapter

Our Mission

Guardians of the Children is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We directly support children in our communities who have been abused and must testify in court against their abusers by "adopting" them into our organization. When a child is adopted, they become a Little Guardian, receive a Road Name to protect their identities, and are assigned a fully patched member of our organization whom the child can seek support 24/7/365. Our organization strives to help the child and their families navigate the court process; we attend court with our Lil Guardians so they never have to testify alone; and we continue to support our Lil Guardians even after court until they turn 18 because healing doesn't stop once the case is closed. 

Objectives

Spread & Raise Awareness

We focus on educating the public about the prevalence of child abuse, the signs to look for, and the steps to take for prevention.

Provide Strength & Stability to Families in Crisis

As advocates, we offer resources and guidance to families impacted by child abuse, fostering resilience and healing.

Support & Protect Affected Children

We adopt children as Little Guardians, providing them with the support, courage, and protection they need to face their abuser and become a victor, not a victim. 

Here at GOC Big Sandy, we believe our mission is not just something we say; it's something we live every day. 

Every mile we ride, every event we host, every child we stand beside, and every conversation we have to spread awareness is driven by one purpose: protecting children. We believe no child should face fear and the darkness alone. We work alongside their families, law enforcement, Child Advocacy Centers, and other community partners to help provide courage, stability, and hope to a child when they need it the most. 

Every child deserves to feel safe. Every child deserves to be heard. Every child deserves someone in their corner.
