In 2022 our organization answered 3,523 incoming calls and 124 texts to our 24-hour crisis line and provided safe shelter for 121 adults and 80 children stayed a total of 10,443 nights at the shelter.

Over 2,600 adults and 228 children received counseling services which include group sessions, individual counseling, and play therapy for children. As we know, education is one of the most effective forms of prevention for domestic violence. Through Community Education, our organization facilitated 1,292 presentations to over 27,680 participants to educate them about how issues surrounding Intimate Partner Violence and abuse. All in all, 4,405 adults and children received 94,065 compassionate and comprehensive services across our entire agency last year.

Our Needs

Denton County Friends of the Family relies on contributions in order to provide free, comprehensive services to our clients. It costs $100 to provide one night of shelter to a mother and her child, $1,000 to provide groceries at the shelter for one month, and $65 to provide an hour of direct services including but not limited to counseling, legal advocacy, and child play therapy. In addition to these services, your contribution will help us maintain and keep our emergency shelter and outreach facilities running so that clients are always able to turn to us for assistance in their time of crisis or need.

Mission

Denton County Friends of the Family is dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive services to those impacted by rape, sexual abuse, and domestic violence while partnering with our community to promote safety, hope, healing, prevention, and justice.
