Welcome to Threads for Change
Empowering Youth Through Fashion, Mentorship, and Opportunity.
Threads for Change, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit, stands at the intersection of fashion and social progress, inspired by the journey of our founder, Daniel Mofor. Growing up in Cameroon, Daniel witnessed the absence of mentors and the powerful role guidance plays in shaping young lives. That experience, combined with his passion for fashion, drives our mission today.
Nearly 40% of children in America face clothing insecurity, which impacts attendance, confidence, and academic success. Threads for Change addresses this challenge head-on through programs like Dress for Success workshops, which provide professional attire, career readiness training, and mentorship; our Scholarship Program, supporting students pursuing higher education; the Prom Suit Drive, ensuring every young man attends prom with confidence and dignity; and Runway for a Cause, our annual fashion fundraiser that fuels youth empowerment.
By supporting Threads for Change this North Texas Giving Day, you help turn potential into opportunity. Together, we can transform lives, one outfit, one skill, and one student at a time.
At Threads for Change, we believe clothing is more than style — it’s a powerful tool for confidence, dignity, and opportunity. Our mission is to harness the world of fashion to empower youth and underprivileged communities, especially across North Texas, by providing access to professional attire, career readiness training, mentorship, and educational support.
From fulfilling prom dreams through our Prom Suit Drive, to preparing young adults for careers with our Dress for Success workshops, to opening doors through scholarships and community initiatives, we are committed to transforming lives — one outfit, one skill, and one opportunity at a time.
Threads for Change is dedicated to empowering underprivileged youth and communities across North Texas. As North Texas Giving Day approaches, we need your support more than ever. We believe that fashion and mentorship should empower, not hinder, individuals. Your contribution on this important day will help us provide clothing, mentorship, scholarships, and confidence-building programs.
Our flagship initiative, the Dress for Success Program, equips young people with professional attire, career readiness workshops, and mentorship from industry leaders. Each workshop provides hands-on skills training, inspiring speakers, and the tools needed to prepare for interviews, internships, and career opportunities.
In addition to Dress for Success, your support fuels:
* Scholarship Program – Offering financial assistance to students pursuing higher education and career training.
* Prom Suit Drive Initiatives – Ensuring every young man has the opportunity to attend prom with dignity and confidence, regardless of financial barriers.
* Runway for a Cause – Our annual fundraising fashion show that brings the community together while generating vital support for youth empowerment programs.
With your help, we can turn challenges into successes and insecurities into confidence. Join us on North Texas Giving Day to support a cause that positively impacts individuals and strengthens our community. Every donation makes a difference and helps create lasting change.
At Threads for Change Foundation, we are committed to fostering a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion in all our endeavors. Our mission is rooted in the belief that fashion can be a powerful catalyst for social empowerment, and we strive to ensure that this empowerment is accessible to all, regardless of background, identity, or circumstance.
