Welcome to the Threads for Change

Building Tomorrow's Leaders, Uplifting Communities. Your Contribution Matters!

Threads for Change, a local 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, stands at the intersection of fashion and social progress, inspired by the personal journey of our founder, Daniel Mofor. Growing up in Cameroon, Daniel witnessed firsthand the absence of mentors and the profound impact that guidance can have on the lives of young boys and girls. This insight, coupled with his deep-rooted passion for fashion and the fact that nearly 40% of children in America experience clothing insecurity—lacking access to adequate, appropriate, or affordable clothing—fuels our mission. Clothing insecurity leads to increased absenteeism and widens the achievement gap, as students who feel self-conscious about their clothing often avoid attending school altogether.

By supporting Threads for Change, you are helping empower youth through fashion, providing them with the confidence and resources they need to succeed. Together, we can ensure that every child has access to the transformative power of fashion, bridging the gap between potential and opportunity. Your generosity will help us expand our reach, increase our impact, and make a lasting difference in the lives of underprivileged youth in the DFW area, North Texas, and beyond.

Join us in our mission to transform lives, one outfit at a time. Thank you for your support and for believing in the power of fashion to foster social empowerment.

Mission

We believe in the power of clothing not just as an expression of style, but as a tool for positive change. Our organization is committed to leveraging the world of fashion to uplift and support communities, with a special focus on empowering youth and underprivileged groups around the globe. From granting prom dreams to teaching young adults the art of professional dressing, our aim is to make a real difference, one outfit at a time.

Needs

Threads for Change is dedicated to empowering underprivileged youth and communities. As North Texas Giving Day approaches, we need your support more than ever. We believe that fashion and mentorship should empower, not hinder, individuals. Your contribution on this important day will help us provide clothing, mentorship, and confidence-building programs.

With your help, we can turn challenges into successes and insecurities into confidence. Join us on North Texas Giving Day to support a cause that positively impacts both individuals and our community. Every donation makes a difference and helps create lasting change.

The organization is focused on building our capacity and seeking financial donations and sponsorships for initiatives like Dress for Success workshops.

Other initiatives include: Runway Show for a Cause; Community Sewing Classes; Fashion Internship Program; Career Launch; Wardrobe Program; Donation Drives; Prom Dress Drive; Eco-Fashion Week; Veterans Career Fair
