At Lighthouse School of Fort Worth, we believe every child is worthy of education, belonging, and the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.
Founded in 2023, Lighthouse was created to provide a different kind of educational experience for children with learning differences—one where students are met exactly where they are and given the individualized support they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
Our approach combines individualized academics with behavioral support, communication development, therapeutic collaboration, and meaningful enrichment opportunities. Rather than asking a child to fit into a traditional educational model, we build an educational experience around the individual child—their strengths, needs, interests, and goals.
And the need for this kind of education is growing.
In just three years, Lighthouse has grown to serve 65 students, with more than 30 families currently on our waitlist. Behind every one of those numbers is a family searching for a place where their child will be understood, supported, challenged, celebrated, and truly included.
At Lighthouse, success looks different for every student. It may be learning to communicate a need for the first time, developing the confidence to participate in a classroom, building meaningful friendships, gaining independence, mastering an academic skill, or discovering something they love through music, movement, art, cooking, or other enrichment opportunities.
These moments may seem small to the outside world, but to our students and their families, they can change everything.
As a nonprofit school, we rely on the generosity of our community to help make this individualized education possible. Funds raised through North Texas Giving Day help us provide financial assistance to families, specialized educational resources, enrichment programs, classroom and therapeutic supports, and opportunities that allow our students to experience a full and meaningful school life.
Our goal has never simply been to create another school. We are building a community where children who may have struggled to find their place elsewhere can walk through our doors and know:

To provide a barrier-free, student-centered, supportive learning environment for youth with learning variability.
As Lighthouse School of Fort Worth continues to grow, so does the need for resources that allow us to provide each student with an individualized, meaningful educational experience.
Our greatest needs include:
• Financial Assistance — Helping ensure that finances are never the reason a child cannot access the education and support they need.
• Specialized Classroom Resources — Providing individualized curriculum, learning materials, sensory resources, technology, and adaptive tools for our students.
• Enrichment Programs — Supporting opportunities such as music, art, movement, cooking, life skills, and other experiences that help our students discover new interests and build confidence.
• Transportation & Community Experiences — Helping our students access field trips, community-based learning, and experiences beyond the classroom.
• Continued Growth — Providing the resources, staffing, classroom support, and programming necessary to serve our growing student population and the families waiting for a place at Lighthouse.
