$10,000 Goal

For 25 years, High Tech Rising, formerly High-Tech High Heels, has expanded access to high-quality STEM education through programs, partnerships and learning experiences that help students build STEM skills, explore future possibilities and gain exposure to careers in technology, engineering and related fields. Today, that work includes both support for proven STEM programs and Oh Snap!, our hands-on STEM program designed to reach students directly.

Oh Snap! brings STEM to life for students in grades 4–6. Using Snap Circuits® kits and guided activities, students learn by building, experimenting and solving problems, making STEM engaging, approachable and fun. The program is designed to expand access to meaningful STEM experiences and reach more students and communities over time.

High Tech Rising - North Texas is our oldest regional chapter and has supported STEM education across the Dallas-Fort Worth community for more than 20 years. Since 2019 alone, the chapter has provided more than $1.9 million in grants supporting STEM education, including physics camps attended by more than 1,000 girls, Gender Equity Training for 800 STEM teachers, and STEM career workshops for 1,000 counselors.

For North Texas Giving Day 2026, High Tech Rising - North Texas is directing 100% of funds raised to Oh Snap! Your support will help bring engaging, hands-on STEM learning to more students and communities.

Mission

Our mission is to invest in the education and development of young women to increase the number who pursue STEM careers.

Needs

Oh Snap! gives students in grades 4–6 a structured, hands-on way to explore STEM by building, experimenting and solving problems. Purpose-built curriculum and guided activities turn Snap Circuits® kits into a learning experience that builds skills, confidence and interest over time.

High Tech Rising is expanding Oh Snap! with six video-based instructional modules designed to make the program easier to deliver through schools, clubs and community organizations without requiring a STEM expert in the room. North Texas Giving Day funding will support the kits and materials needed to reach more students, development and delivery of instructional content, and expansion to additional communities.

The program is already demonstrating impact. Among participating students surveyed, 65% reported increased confidence in STEM, 65% reported increased interest in STEM, and 90% said they enjoyed working with the kits. Oh Snap! reached approximately 2,400 students in 2025, providing a strong foundation for continued expansion.

With your support, every $1,000 raised can bring the Oh Snap! experience to approximately 85 students.

Equity Statement

High Tech Rising is committed to closing the gender gap in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Our goal is for ALL girls to have the opportunity to pursue the STEM career field of their choice, limited only by their talent, effort and aspiration.

We believe every donor, grant applicant and recipient, prospective board member, and volunteer should receive equal consideration regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation. We strive to treat all members and stakeholders of our organization with dignity and respect.
