To be the First Choice in social services to provide treatment for families affected by domestic violence, substance abuse, and teen homelessness.
About First Choice Social Services
Over the last 13 years, we have provided services to the residents of Dallas County and Collin County. We work primarily with disenfranchised, poverty-stricken, low educated, crime-saturated, limited safe green space for children to play and social services limited neighborhoods. We are located in the heart of where our clients live, go to school, and work at the Martin Luther King Center. We partner with the local schools in Dallas & Garland to provide teen outreach services as needed. We have served 5,234 clients within our adult programs and 845 youth. First Choice Social Services ensures equity and representation are at the center of our decision-making by emerging our services in the community. We have a full-service office at the Martin Luther King Center, the heart of our communities of color service areas. Our staff participates in events, outings, town hall meetings, and community gatherings, and when requested, attends our client’s family events.
First Choice Social Services uses an intersectional approach which allows us to better understand our clients to how they are perceived in society. This can help us to understand barriers to care and complex traumas and oppressive systems impacting homeless families daily lives.
