$120,000 Goal

INVEST IN HER, IMPACT GENERATIONS.

A single investment can create a legacy that lasts for generations.

Every day, women across North Texas are working to build healthier families, achieve financial stability, and create brighter futures for their children. With the right support, one opportunity can change the trajectory of an entire family.

When a woman has the tools to improve her health, finances, and career, the impact extends far beyond her. Her children thrive. Her family becomes more stable. Her entire community grows stronger.

This North Texas Giving Day, your gift to Ascend Dallas helps women and families build healthier, more financially secure futures at no cost to the people we serve.

WHO WE SERVE

Behind every number is a woman determined to create a better future.

Ascend Dallas serves more than 2,100 individuals each year, primarily in North Texas communities that have historically experienced limited access to financial, career, and health resources.

Many of the people we serve are navigating financial instability, preparing for the birth of their first child, rebuilding after hardship, or working toward a more secure future for themselves and their families.

80% of participating households earn less than $44,500 annually, and more than 94% of those we serve identify as people of color.

We meet every participant with dignity, without judgment, and with the individualized support needed to move forward.

WHAT WE DO

For more than a century, Ascend Dallas has helped women and families build healthier, more stable futures.

Founded in 1908 as the YWCA, Ascend Dallas has spent more than 118 years evolving to meet the changing needs of women and families in our community.

Today, we provide two core programs that address the interconnected challenges of health, financial stability, and career opportunity because lasting change happens when families have the support they need at the moments they need it most.

ECONOMIC ADVANCEMENT

Financial stability creates opportunities that extend well beyond a paycheck.

Economic Advancement helps individuals create a path toward long-term financial security through personalized, one-on-one support.

Participants may receive:

  • Financial education and coaching
  • Credit-building guidance
  •  Savings support
  • Career coaching and workforce development
  • Assistance navigating public benefits and community resources
  • Individualized plans for reaching personal and financial goals

Our services are delivered through trusted community partner locations, virtual appointments, and other accessible settings. Rather than expecting participants to come to us, we bring support directly into the communities where people live, work, learn, and seek assistance.

NURSE-FAMILY PARTNERSHIP

Every mother deserves a healthy start and every baby deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Nurse-Family Partnership connects first-time mothers with specially trained Ascend Dallas Registered Nurses beginning early in pregnancy and continuing through the child's second birthday.

Through regular home visits, nurses provide trusted guidance and support related to:

  • Healthy pregnancies and birth outcomes
  • Infant health and development
  • Breastfeeding and nutrition
  • Parenting skills and confidence
  • Educational and career goals
  • Family stability and access to community resources

The consistent relationship between each mother and her nurse creates a foundation of trust that helps mothers build healthier lives for themselves and their babies.

YOUR GIFT CREATES LASTING CHANGE

Your North Texas Giving Day donation helps ensure that women and families can receive these life-changing services at no cost.

$25 provides five early-development books for a mother and her baby.

$50 provides approximately 20 days of diapers for a new baby.

$100 provides two individualized financial-coaching sessions.

$250 supports an in-home visit with a specially trained Registered Nurse.

$500 provides essential baby-care packages for five first-time mothers and their babies.

$1,000 supports the delivery of critical health, financial, and career services.

$2,500 helps cover transportation costs for Registered Nurses visiting first-time mothers throughout North Texas.

$5,000 provides career training and coaching for 10 women.

Every gift, at every level, helps a woman take an important step toward stability, opportunity, and independence.

Because when you invest in her, you do more than change one life. You help strengthen a family, inspire a child, and create a legacy that lasts for generations.

Giving Activity

Mission

Our mission is to empower women, fight poverty, and impact generations.

We know the power behind the investment—how supporting one person can strengthen a household, uplift a community, and create change that lasts for generations. Beginning as the YWCA in 1908, Ascend Dallas has evolved to meet the changing needs of the people we serve.

We recognize the undeniable link between health, financial stability, and career opportunity. That’s why our approach creates stability pathways that address all three—empowering participants to achieve lasting progress across multiple areas of life.

We don’t replicate existing services. Instead, we partner with trusted community organizations to fill critical gaps, ensuring that each participant has access to the right resources at the right time without redundancy. This means every donor dollar supports targeted, strategic, and high-impact work.

Our team of coaches, mentors, and our own Registered Nurse home visitors works one-on-one with participants to design actionable plans for long-term stability and success. We walk alongside each person as a trusted partner, providing accountability, encouragement, and resources every step of the way.

Our commitment doesn’t end when a goal is reached. We remain engaged—offering ongoing coaching, education, and support—so that today’s progress becomes the foundation for stronger families and more resilient communities for generations to come.

Needs

Ascend Dallas seeks funding to:

• Expand free financial coaching and career-development services

• Provide consistent Registered Nurse home visits to first-time mothers

• Supply educational materials, diapers, books, and essential baby-care items

• Help participants overcome transportation and technology barriers

• Strengthen community partnerships in underserved North Texas neighborhoods

• Ensure every participant receives personalized, accessible, and sustained support

Unrestricted gifts are especially valuable because they allow Ascend Dallas to direct funding to the programs and families with the greatest immediate needs.

Equity Statement

At Ascend Dallas, diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the core of who we are. Our commitment to these values is unwavering – across all of our work and how we serve. They are central to our mission and to our impact. We know that having varied perspectives helps generate better ideas to achieve our mission, “Empower women. Fight poverty. Impact generations.”

The leadership at Ascend Dallas, board of directors and staff, have adopted this vision and are committed to the following actions:

Diversifying board members

Diversifying senior staff, when and where applicable
