American Legion Post 315 Amateur Radio Club: Is part of the American Radio Relay League North Texas Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARRL NTX ARES). The Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (ARES) consists of licensed amateurs who have voluntarily registered their qualifications and equipment, with their local ARES leadership, for communications duty in the public service when disaster strikes. Other community programs include amateur radio demonstrations to veterans in retirement/ assisted living centers, support local first responders during civic events, adding an additional layer of observations and communications.
