Welcome to the American Legion Hale-Combest Post 315, based in the city of Wylie, Texas. Our post family consists of The American Legion Auxiliary, and the Sons of the American Legion squadron 315

The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veteran’s organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. The American Legion and as such, Wylie American Legion Hale-Combest post 315 was chartered in 2011 is committed to supporting the American Legion’s National Organization’s Four Pillars of service consisting: 




  • Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation
  • National Security
  • Americanism
  • Children and Youth programs 

 

 The American Legion Hale-Combest Post 315 provides

  • Provides educational scholarships, tuition, and/or financial expense assistance to selected high school students.
  • Provides humanitarian aid to distressed veterans.
  • Provide relief and assistance in the community and may include food drives and during times of emergency, augmenting emergency responses by providing temporary shelter for persons displaced by natural or man-made disasters pursuant to an actual or anticipated national, or local declaration of emergency.
  • Support the Children and Youth Programs of the American Legion and other American Legion Hale-Combest Post 315 approved programs.
  • Support programs honoring veterans and promoting patriotic activities.
  • accept and disburse funds for the purposes of making charitable contributions to other organizations which are organized to provide scholarships and aid to the children and families of personnel of the Armed Forces of the United States and Veterans.
  • conduct, engage in and promote any lawful act or activity for which nonprofit Foundations may now or hereafter be allowed under the laws of the State of Texas

 

Your support is needed and would be greatly appreciated. Any financial support is welcomed and will be used wisely. While a ‘use where best needed’ is appreciated, we will honor requests to restrict a donation to a specific program.

American Legion Hale-Combest Post 315 is a 501(c)19 organization that works to enhance the well-being of America’s veterans, their families our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation's largest veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.

Needs

American Legion Hale Combest Post 315 in Wylie, Texas, serves as a vital hub for veterans, their families, and the surrounding communities. Here are some of the essential needs and areas where your support can make a difference:

Scholarships: Your support enables us to sponsor scholarships for local children, empowering their educational journeys. Programs such as TEXAS BOYS STATE, TEXAS Bluebonnet GIRLS STATE, and the Post Amateur Radio Club benefit from your donations

Veterans Assistance: We aid and assist local veterans and their families, ensuring they receive the care they deserve.

Community Programs: Donations fund worthy community initiatives.

American Legion Post 315 Amateur Radio Club: Is part of the American Radio Relay League North Texas Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARRL NTX ARES). The Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (ARES) consists of licensed amateurs who have voluntarily registered their qualifications and equipment, with their local ARES leadership, for communications duty in the public service when disaster strikes. Other community programs include amateur radio demonstrations to veterans in retirement/ assisted living centers, support local first responders during civic events, adding an additional layer of observations and communications. Our amateur radio repeater network supports general amateur use, public service events, and emergency communications. Your donations support's our continued expansion and continued maintenance of our amateur radio network
